Joining the London Women Chess Club

Membership is free, and all women and girls are warmly invited to get involved—whether you’re completely new to chess or already competing.

 How to Join

To become a member, simply complete our Member Contact Registration Form. This lets you:

• Join our league teams

• Receive email newsletter updates about tournaments and coaching

• Access our WhatsApp community for news and puzzles

• Discount at Chess & Bridge

There’s no fee to join and no charge to play league matches.

 League & Competitive Play

We run teams across several London leagues, offering regular rated, over‑the‑board matches. Our current leagues include:

• London Chess League

• 4 Nations Chess League (4NCL) — OTB and online

Players of all levels are welcome, and there is no club fee or per‑game charges from LWCC. Certain special events may require a specific entry fee. Any such costs will be clearly noted in the event details.

Online Tournaments
We also take part in online leagues and tournaments, including the World Chess League on chess.com and other seasonal team events.

Social Chess & Community
Every Sunday, we host a free Social Chess Afternoon at Pancras Square Library. It’s a relaxed, welcoming space for women and girls of all ages and abilities—complete beginners included.

Coaching & Improvement
We offer group coaching sessions and study opportunities throughout the year. Members can join our WhatsApp group to stay updated on training, events, and match sign‑ups.
